Be part of shaping the future of the Australian disability sector

The disability sector is experiencing a boost in jobs due to the roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Enhance your career prospects by enrolling in our Certificate IV in Disability.

Successful completion of the Certificate IV in Disability will enable you to provide training and support for people with disabilities to help them to achieve greater levels of independence, self-confidence and community involvement.

This qualification prepares you for work in residential group homes, training resource centres, day respite centres, open employment services, other community settings and in clients’ homes. During this course, you will engage with local services during a work placement, where you will gain “hands-on” skills and knowledge.

Job titles may include:

Behavioural support worker

Community development officer

Disability support worker

Residential care worker

Personal care assistant

Employment coordinator

This course includes an integrated work placement component of a minimum of 120 hours. We organise the practical placement for students enrolling in this course.

This course will require you to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check for practical placement. Practical placement may not be possible if a check that is carried out contains adverse outcomes. In this instance, you may not be able to complete your qualification and your employment opportunities may be affected. If you are aware of, or concerned about anything that may appear on a Police Check or Working with Children Check, please discuss this at your enrolment interview.
