Support students with their learning and development
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings, who provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision. Some job roles may require tasks to be performed with a moderate level of autonomy and/or the provision of supervision/leadership to other staff/volunteers.
On completion of this course you will be qualified to work as a Teacher's Aide.
This course includes excursions to local schools together with real hands-on learning, where you will be able to put your new found skills into practice and learn from those who are already in the job.
Job titles may include:
- Teacher Aide
- Teacher Assistant
- Education Assistant
- Education Support Worker
This course includes an integrated work placement component (for those not currently working in an educational setting) of a minimum of 100 hours. We organise the practical placement for students enrolling in this course.
This course will require you to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check for practical placement. Practical placement may not be possible if a check that is carried out contains adverse outcomes. In this instance, you may not be able to complete your qualification and your employment opportunities may be affected. If you are aware of, or concerned about anything that may appear on a Police Check or Working with Children Check, please discuss this at your enrolment interview.
