TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR OWN LEARNING

Are you aged 15-19 years and interested in completing further education and training? Looking for a relaxed and supportive environment with understanding staff? Then, our Youth Education is the right place to be!

We offer Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) at Foundation (Year 10), Intermediate (Year 11) and Senior (Year 12) levels, and we offer continuous intake throughout the year. VCAL is a recognised senior secondary qualification and gives practical work related experience as well as literacy and numeracy skills.  Whilst the program runs Monday to Thursday 9.30am - 3.00pm and follows standard school terms, we can tailor flexible engagement to suit student needs.

Our VCAL program also provides students the opportunity to complete a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate, enabling the students to complete with two recognised qualifications. Completing VET subjects as part of VCAL prepares the student for the standards expected from employers and can also be a pathway to further studies. Our VET courses (compulsory) are run in-house and change annually in response to the student's areas of interests. We also offers a range of onsite employment support through our employment services teams.

Testimonial

“For the last two years my daughter has been overcoming depression, chronic anxiety and a stressful home life due to my health and financial difficulty. The staff at SkillsPlus have been an absolutely fantastic support to my daughter over the years. They, like myself as a parent, have stuck by her to ensure she completed her grade 10 pass. She has now progressed into her Grade 11 VCE, with the hope of eventually gaining entry into University. I don’t think she would have made it through her tough times if it were not for the availability of the SkillsPlus Youth program or the support of the fabulous teaching staff there. So once again, thank you,” Student's Mother.

"SkillsPlus is my family. Everyone here has everyone’s back no matter what and that means everything to me. I have never met a more amazing group of people. This place means more to me than I’ll ever be able to explain. Without SkillsPlus I wouldn’t be the person that I am today. It’s going to be hard not seeing everyone every day. I am leaving SkillsPlus with a Year 12 pass and an incredible family," said Tegan.
