Creating opportunities through training and community development

We’ve got two amazing opportunity shops in Ballarat, both called Ballarat Bargain Browser. The two stores provide families in Ballarat with affordable second-hand goods and offer BRACE students the opportunity to develop work and social skills in a real life retail employment setting. Our stores provide work experience opportunities to people with a disability, disengaged youth and people experiencing social, learning or financial barriers. For some, Ballarat Bargain Browser may be the first small step to re-engage with society, develop some work related skills, break down barriers to social isolation and develop their confidence.

Our stores continue to be very well supported by a strong and loyal band of volunteers who not only assist in the day-to-day operations but act as terrific mentors to our students during work experience placements. The success of the stores is also contributable to the positive support in donated goods received from local businesses and the Ballarat community. Ballarat Bargain Browser provides affordable, second-hand clothing. You can find quality women’s and men’s clothing, including casual wear, business clothing, accessories, shoes and homeware. Ballarat Bargain Browser rely on in-kind support from the local Ballarat community. Every purchase you make helps us give back to the community. You can get involved by volunteering your time to help in the store, or by spreading the word about our stores and donating quality homeware, clothing and accessories. For more information about Ballarat Bargain Browsers you can call one of our stores or drop by to have a chat with our friendly staff.
